The highly-rated Arnold Mvuemba joined Pompey on loan for the remainder of the season in January.
The 21-year-old France U21 international has made 33 appearances for French Ligue 1 side Rennes, since making his debut in January 2004 having progressed through their youth ranks.
Mvuemba was named player of the tournament in the 2005 Toulon U21 international competition, thanks in part to a virtuoso display in the final that inspired France to a 4-1 victory over Portugal.
