Biography:
After a successful trial with the club, this box-to-box midfielder with an eye for goal signed initially until the end of the 2008 season, before then being given a further years contract with the club.
Previously with non-league side Ashton Athletic, Alex scored his first Rovers goal for the Academy in their 4-3 win over Crewe at the end of January 2008.
Now with the Reserves for the 2008/09 season, Alex was awarded squad number 37 in August 2008 and in January 2009 he signed a new deal with Rovers to keep him at the club until the summer of 2011.
Featured for the senior squad in their pre-season friendly match against Cambridge United in July 2009.
Joined Oldham Athletic on a month-long loan deal in August 2009.
