Biography:
A player that needs little introduction. The Senegal-born attacker started his professional career in France and had spells with Sochaux, Stade Rennais and RC Lens, before a starring role for his country in the World Cup of 2002 saw him earn a big money move to the Premier League and to Liverpool.
Diouf didn't quite hit the heights at Anfield, in his three year spell, and joined Bolton Wanderers after a successful loan spell.
Three years later he signed for Sunderland, but a lack of first-team opportunities saw him reunited with his former Bolton boss Sam Allardyce at Blackburn Rovers in January 2009. Signing a three-and-a-half-year deal.
A tenacious attacker, Diouf scored his first goal in Rovers colours in their 2-1 win over Fulham in March.
Capped 41 times by Senegal, he has now retired from international football.
